Example of Using a Hot Button Word

Responses

  1. Who makes the decision? The ability to see all parties and identifying the decision maker is very important in business. Eliciting criteria, the HOT BUTTON word, is important.
Ask the decision maker (in this context a program based on developing great communication skills) How would you know that this program was well worth your while and the right decision? The decision maker’s response is: CACHING, CACHING, CACHING (AKA $$$) His criteria HOT BUTTON word (emotional) for sales $$$
In this exercise the Decision maker was taken back, past tense, they (sales people) coming back from appointments – CACHING,CACHING,CACHING Then think back to that time, that was the best decision I ever made CACHING,CACHING,CACHING.
Using the clients criteria word – connects to deeper levels of experience – it is powerful.
